Description
Located on Saudi Arabia’s pristine western coastline, the Turtle Bay Landscape project forms part of the ambitious Red Sea Global master plan — a benchmark in sustainable development. Tasked with designing a human-scaled, ecologically responsive landscape, this project reclaims a desert site and transforms it into a lush, walkable environment for employees and residents of the Red Sea Project.
Inspired by traditional wadi systems and natural desert oases, the layout introduces rhythmic, green linear corridors that follow the site’s topography. Shaded pedestrian pathways are lined with drought-tolerant native vegetation, offering relief and comfort within a previously harsh landscape. Small gathering nodes, rest areas, and hybrid pavilions punctuate the plan to support both functional and social activities.
With environmental stewardship at the core, the landscape is designed to minimize water usage, promote biodiversity, and provide microclimatic cooling. Every intervention — from stormwater harvesting swales to minimal-impact structures — is carefully curated to ensure that the natural ecology is respected and enhanced.
This project is not just a landscape — it’s a vital interface between nature, infrastructure, and the human experience, setting the tone for a future-oriented, sustainable Red Sea community.
